Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent – Technical Training, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing training programs tailored to employees involved in copper and cobalt processing operations. He/She will ensure that the targeted personnel acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Minimum qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- ISO 21001 certification (Management System for Education/Training Organizations) or an equivalent certification is an asset.
- Recognized accreditation in adult education and skills assessment, issued by an accredited training organization, is a strong asset.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in copper and cobalt processing operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory position and a minimum of 2 years in a training role.
- Proven experience in designing educational tools, including the development of training materials and programs.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing training programs within a processing plant environment.
Required skills
- Excellent understanding of processing principles and practices, along with industry-specific technical expertise.
- Strong skills in delivering and facilitating training sessions.
- Proficiency in e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and training-related technologies.
- Strong analytical skills to identify training needs and assess the effectiveness of implemented programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage and motivate diverse teams.
- Proven experience in project management, including the ability to lead multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage training programs for operational teams.
- Analyze training needs and evaluate their alignment with operational requirements.
- Facilitate training sessions, ensuring learner engagement and active participation.
- Monitor participant performance and prepare detailed evaluation reports.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to foster effective collaboration.
- Identify skills gaps and implement continuous improvement measures.
- Ensure compliance with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as adherence to MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
