Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the General Manager -Processing, the incumbent of this position is responsible for the management and coordination of the maintenance and critical project activities of a business unit to ensure optimal availability at the lowest cost, in accordance with safety, legislative and operational requirements and objectives.
Minimum qualification
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or similar field
- Master of Business Administration would be an advantage.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 10 (ten) years of relevant work experience in the mining industry, including a minimum of 2 years as a field engineer, 3 years of experience in engineering management.

- DRC and Africa Experience an advantage
- Good command of English and exceptional intercultural communication skills (French would be an advantage).
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret business strategy and develop tactics to achieve overall business objectives
- Interpret and implement the asset management strategy to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the maintenance function
- Manage equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Implement planned maintenance (PM) systems to comply with operational requirements and best practices
- Plan and coordinate major equipment shutdowns with internal and external customers to ensure timely resource allocation
- Coordinate the design of new equipment and ensure its integration with the application of existing technology and resources
- Confirm that all safety aspects of work performed within the department are managed to minimize risks and eliminate the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Ensure that team members have individual performance KPIs and a development plan in place.
- Ensure that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with Glencore's requirements and the requirements of MUMI SAFEWORK V2
- Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy
