Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

MUMI is recruiting a: " Mining Training Specialist "

Main objectives of the position

Under the direct supervision of the Technical Training Superintendent, the incumbent of this position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing training programs for employees in the mining department. He/she will focus on ensuring that all personnel involved in mining operations are adequately trained in safety procedures, operational practices, equipment handling, and compliance with industry regulations. He/She will also assess training needs, deliver effective training solutions, and evaluate the outcomes to enhance the skills and safety of the workforce. 

Minimum qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Safety Management, or related technical field.
  • ISO 21001 (Educational Organizations Management Systems) Certification or an Equivalent is a plus.

·        Accreditation in the Training And Assessment by a recognized Training Organization is highly a plus.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in mining training, with at least 3 years in a leadership or specialist role.

  • Experience in instructional design, including developing training materials and curriculum.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful training programs to Mining teams..

Required skills 

  • Strong understanding of mining engineering principles and practices, as well as industry-specific technical skills.
  • Excellent instructional, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other training-related technologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training needs and measure training effectiveness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
