Purpose and objective
Ensure effective treasury and financial process execution, supporting liquidity management, cash forecasting, funding, and payment governance within the organization. The role contributes to the Business Plan by safeguarding financial stability, optimizing working capital, and ensuring compliance with delegations of authority and internal controls. It adds value by mitigating financial risk, enhancing cash visibility, and enabling timely payments to support uninterrupted business operations.
The position is responsible for managing foreign exchange, overseeing intercompany funding structures, and maintaining strategic banking relationships to secure efficient financing and cash management solutions. It adds value by mitigating financial and liquidity risks, enhancing global cash visibility, strengthening capital structure efficiency, and enabling seamless operational support.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position, with experience and experience in entry-level accounting/finance roles
- Experience in mining industry (would be a plus)
- Upper Intermediate English level will be mandatory
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborated with multiple groups of internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of SAP FI module.
- Knowledge of Quantum treasury management system (TMS) is desirable.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations (Peru, Chile and Argentina) is desirable.
- Experience working with consolidation system at global enterprise
- Availability for occasional travel within South America (Chile, Peru, Argentina) – both Corporate offices and Operations
Responsibilities:
- Manage liquidity: Ensure sufficient cash is available for operational needs, debt obligations, and investment opportunities.
- Oversee cash forecasting and planning: Provide accurate cash flow forecasts to support business decisions and optimize working capital.
- Oversee cash collections: Ensure timely collection of receivables, dividends, improve cash conversion cycle, and enhance cash flow predictability.
- Optimize surplus cash: Maximize returns on excess cash through appropriate short-term investments, cash pooling, and interest optimization strategies.
- Manage foreign exchange operations and risk: Execute FX transactions and hedging strategies to mitigate currency exposure, ensuring cost-effective and compliant FX management.
- Administer and safeguard guarantees and bank instruments: Ensure proper issuance, tracking, renewal, custody and compliance of bank guarantees, letters of credit, and other financial instruments, mitigating counterparty and operational risk.
- Maintain and negotiate banking relationships: Secure favorable terms for credit facilities, manage transaction banking services, and strengthen relationships with key financial institutions.
- Supervise intercompany funding and cash pooling: Optimize intercompany cash movements, funding structures, and capital efficiency across subsidiaries.
- Ensure disbursement management: Guarantee timely and accurate processing of payments in compliance with internal controls, delegations of authority, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance and reporting: Maintain adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and corporate governance standards, providing accurate treasury reporting.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of treasury systems and participate in improvement projects: Optimize the use of treasury systems, such as SAP and Quantum, to support accurate reporting, streamline processes, enhance productivity, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and add value to treasury operations
- Act as backup for the Chilean and Argentine Treasurers as required: Ensure continuity of treasury operations, maintain compliance with corporate policies and local regulatory requirements, and minimize operational disruption during absences or peak workload periods
