Contracts Lead – Coroccohuayco Project

Work Location: Lima (Pre-Feasibility / Bridging phase) Subsequently, Cusco – project site under camp and rotation regime

Reports to: Commercial Manager – Coroccohuayco Project

 

The Coroccohuayco Project is a strategic extension of the Tintaya–Antapaccay complex, designed to maximize the use of existing infrastructure, ensure operational continuity, and generate sustainable long-term value. The project is being developed within a highly complex brownfield technical, social, and environmental environment, with strong integration with ongoing operations.

 

Position Purpose

 

Lead the end-to-end contract management function for the Coroccohuayco Project, ensuring transparent, efficient, and strategically aligned contracting processes in accordance with Glencore Copper objectives. The role is critical to optimizing contractual conditions, managing commercial and contractual risks, and ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable project execution, while also promoting the participation of local contractors and suppliers.

 

Operating Context

 

The Coroccohuayco Project is being developed in a highly demanding brownfield environment, requiring close coordination with ongoing operations, strict compliance with environmental and social regulations, and disciplined capital management.  The Contracts Lead operates within a dynamic environment involving multiple simultaneous tendering and contract execution processes, tight schedules, and high technical complexity. The role requires constant interaction with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring alignment on safety, cost, quality, and schedule objectives.

 

Professional Requirements

 

  • Professional Background Law (preferably with specialization in Corporate, Commercial, or Mining Law), Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related disciplines.
  • Specialization in Contract Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management is desirable. MBA will be considered an advantage.
  • More than 10 years of experience in contract management and/or procurement within large-scale projects (mining, infrastructure, or energy).
  • Proven experience in tendering, negotiation, and contract execution under EPC / EPCM models.
  • Experience in brownfield projects and/or active operating environments is highly valued.
  • Strong command of ERP systems and contract management tools.
  • Strong analytical capability and interpretation of contractual documentation (commercial terms, schedules, payment conditions, and risks).
  • Ability to define, analyze, and report contractual and tendering KPIs.

  • Advanced Spanish and English.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Availability to travel approximately 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and supervise the contracts administration team throughout the full contract lifecycle.

  • Manage tendering processes ensuring compliance with timelines, governance, and internal guidelines.

  • Coordinate contract awards ensuring optimal, transparent, and business-aligned contractual conditions.

  • Review and validate contractual documentation (RFQs, contracts, amendments, and close-outs).

  • Oversee contract execution, ensuring compliance with schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements.

  • Actively promote participation of local contractors and suppliers aligned with the project’s social strategy.

  • Develop, monitor, and report contractual and team performance KPIs.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to the contracts team.

  • Ensure consistent application of best practices in contract management.

  • Support audits, risk reviews, and project governance committees.

  • Coordinate closely with internal areas to ensure integration and alignment of project objectives.
