 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Job description.

 

Under the hierarchical supervision of the Chief Operations - Mines and functional Regional Project Lead, the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), including report writing, verifications, project evaluation as well as coordinating study-related workflows. This includes, but is not limited to, TSF, water resources management, waste management, geotechnical investigations, infrastructure, technical permits, feasibility study plan and project execution plan.

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive list):

 

•    Glencore ’s copper assets and integrating them into a meaningful plan;
•    Maintain ongoing alignment of project scope with business objectives and make recommendations to modify the project to improve effectiveness in achieving business outcomes or strategic intent;
•    Influence decisions based on understanding of business strategy and drivers and contribute to implementation strategy within the project;
•    Guide the internal approval process through the technical and commercial evaluation process to achieve the required results;
•    Implement the project in accordance with approved parameters (e.g. HSE, scope, quality, budget, schedule, etc.);
•    Work closely with key stakeholders to understand and continuously update critical deliverables of company projects;
•    Follow a rigorous problem-solving methodology, analyze a wide range of data and interpret it to provide solutions to critical business problems;
•    Manage, guide and influence the study management team and other specialist teams to achieve critical project outcomes;
•    Ensure that all appropriate systems and processes are in place and being implemented.

 


Job requirements .


Qualifications and experience.

 

•    Hold a university degree in engineering, project management, business or a related field;
•    Have more than 10 years of experience in project management, commissioning and study management in the mining and metallurgical industry;
•    Have a professional qualification in Project management (PMI - PMP);
•    Extensive knowledge of industrial/regulatory engineering, HSEC, operational codes and standards;
•    Have a command of the English language (French would be an benefit);
•    Hold a job seeker card (ONEM).

 

Technical skills.

 

•    Have a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects in an industrial environment;
•    Have the ability to optimize design to enable the reflection and innovative design phase of projects;
•    Demonstrate commitment to HSE management in a project/service contract environment;
•    Have a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects in an industrial environment;
•    Be able to manage multiple parties including contractors;
•    Have excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
