Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Job description.
Reporting to the Director of Mines Operations, the incumbent in this position will be required to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to health and safety, operational discipline, risk management and cost performance. Lead, develop and maintain a high-performance, results-oriented culture within the department, supported by effective systems, standards and procedures. Drive operational excellence, budgetary rigour and continuous improvement to ensure the safe delivery of asset life.
He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive list):
- Health, Safety, Environment, Community and Risk Management : Demonstrate unwavering commitment and leadership to establish a sustainable, safe and healthy work environment where risks and hazards are identified and effectively managed, promoting and modelling a proactive approach to high risk tasks, life-threatening protocols, essential controls, business risks and applicable mining regulations.
- Budgets, Costs and Governance : Ensure the implementation and adherence to budgeting, forecasting, cost management and analysis processes, ensuring compliance with the organization's financial reporting and governance policies, procedures and standards. Maintain strict cost and performance discipline through effective financial processes.
- Leadership, Human Resources, Development and Communication : It is essential to communicate clearly and effectively while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards. This involves ensuring that all actions are transparent and in line with company policy and values, while ensuring that all staff are informed of operational strategies and associated objectives.
- Operational excellence and Technical : Demonstrate operational and technical excellence by anticipating challenges and leading the team to achieve established departmental and business objectives, ensuring the preservation and enhancement of organizational value. This requires proactive management of operational risks, including the assessment of legacy infrastructure, developing and implementing appropriate maintenance and risk management strategies, supported by plans and control mechanisms.
