KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

As an industrial mining company, we provide safe workplaces and support the sustainable development of the local economy. We maintain a constructive and open dialogue with the communities that host us, as well as with the provincial and national government.

Under the Superintendent's supervision, they will prepare metal balance sheets, reconcile inventories, and provide the technical reporting necessary for operational and financial requirements. Responsible for compliance with AMIRA P754, they will conduct statistical investigations to identify discrepancies and optimize process performance. This strategic role supports decision-making through rigorous analysis of data from the mine, laboratory, and plant.

  • Oversee the monitoring of flows and the integrity of metallurgical data: This includes coordinating all technical metal accounting activities across the mine site. This includes the collection, validation, and consolidation of production, inventory, and laboratory data, while ensuring complete traceability of metals from plant feed to exported finished products.
  • Managing the development of metal balances and variance analysis: This includes maintaining and reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly balances for copper and cobalt. It also includes accurately calculating recovery rates and losses, as well as conducting root cause analyses to explain any metallurgical anomalies or variances detected in the system.

It also includes systematically investigating inconsistencies between ore volumes processed and analytical results to ensure the accuracy of data entered into management systems.
  • Managing the reconciliation of metallurgical and reagent stocks: This includes rigorously tracking raw material, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods stocks through regular physical inventories. It also includes reconciling chemical reagent consumption and providing technical support during internal or external audits to justify stock movements.
  • Develop reporting tools and production forecasts: This includes preparing and presenting detailed performance reports and interactive dashboards (via Excel or Power BI). It also includes updating copper production forecasts by coordinating input from the Mining and Metallurgy departments, while ensuring the reliability of the forecasting models.
  • Providing financial support, compliance, and continuous improvement: This includes assisting the Finance department with monthly closings and preparing supporting documentation for auditors. It also includes strict adherence to internal controls and the AMIRA P754 code, while collaborating with the IT department to stabilize and improve digital metal accounting systems.
