Job description.
Under the direct supervision of the Manager Governance & Technical Stewardship , the job holder's role is to ensure equipment compliance with national regulations and ordinances, international standards and KCC's maintenance policy. He/she will supervise other maintenance inspectors responsible for compliance in their daily work of verifying equipment compliance. He/she will have to apply the regulatory obligation of periodic general inspection of machines within KCC and proactively detect any deterioration or non-compliance likely to create a danger to the health and safety of workers.
He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive list):
- Ensure regulatory compliance of equipment: This includes the application of the regulatory obligation of periodic general inspection of machines, the verification of the conformity of equipment with the standards and regulations in force, as well as the proactive detection of any deterioration or non-conformity which could present a danger to the health and safety of workers.
- Supervise inspections and tests : This involves supervising regulatory inspections on company and subcontractor equipment, verifying regulatory and functional compliance of equipment through checks, measurements, tests and readings, as well as monitoring functional tests (commissioning) to assess the proper functioning of mechanisms and ensure the operational efficiency of all devices installed on the equipment.
- Identify and manage risks : This includes identifying anomalies or malfunctions in the inspected equipment, identifying and managing risk factors for personnel, equipment or the installation during inspection work, and proposing corrective actions to improve the condition of the equipment.
- Maintaining records and reports : This involves keeping accurate records of observations and inspections, alerting management of any anomalies or risks diagnosed, and preparing elements of the general equipment maintenance policy with respect to compliance requirements.
- Training and developing staff : This includes identifying and recommending appropriate training for staff, managing staff performance, managing staff leave and absences, and developing staff recognition and motivation programs.
- Ensuring safety and operational efficiency : This involves the application of safety instructions, ensuring the rational use of equipment, and the standardization, dissemination and evaluation of performance indicators.
- Advise and prescribe technical solutions : This includes advising and prescribing corrective, preventive or improved technical solutions for equipment.
- Organize and control inspection services : This involves the organization, control and certification in relation to users of different inspection services.
