Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Master Data/SAP Manager, the role of the incumbent will be to ensure the integrity, accuracy and governance of master data within the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) system. He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of master data activities, from creation and updates to quality assurance and adherence to governance protocols. He will work closely with maintenance teams, planners and engineers to optimize data structures and systems to support maintenance activities and operational efficiency. He will contribute to continuous process improvement and identification of optimization opportunities, while supporting the organization with comprehensive reporting and analytics, leveraging SAP PM data to inform strategic maintenance and asset management decisions.
He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive list):
- Manage Master Data Management. This includes creating, maintaining, and updating SAP PM master data, including equipment hierarchies, functional locations, bills of materials (BOMs), task lists, and preventive maintenance plans.
- Validate and ensure data compliance. This includes rigorously validating master data entries to ensure they adhere to approved standards, naming conventions, and governance frameworks. It also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and correct discrepancies or inconsistencies in master data entries and regularly auditing master data to ensure compliance with global and site-specific requirements.
- Ensure data quality and governance. This includes conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity. This involves identifying data quality issues and working collaboratively to resolve root causes. It also involves enforcing master data governance protocols, ensuring consistent data practices across the site. It also includes participating in the development and maintenance of master data standards and process documentation. It also involves leading master data cleansing and enrichment initiatives, identifying gaps or outdated information and implementing corrective actions to meet evolving business requirements.
- Provide operational support. This includes assisting maintenance teams in using SAP PM master data for efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of work. This involves collaborating with planners, engineers, and supervisors to optimize maintenance plans, task lists, and bills of materials. This involves acting as the point of contact at the site level for master data issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder satisfaction. It also involves helping to resolve SAP PM issues that impact master data.
- Produce reports and analytics. This includes generating reports and dashboards to monitor master data quality, maintenance performance indicators, and asset performance. This involves supporting data-driven decision making by analyzing master data and providing actionable insights. This involves developing and generating standardized and ad hoc reports to provide insights into the quality, completeness, and consistency of SAP PM master data. This involves reporting on key indicators such as equipment reliability, maintenance history, preventive maintenance compliance, and data accuracy to support operational and strategic decision making. This involves using SAP PM reporting tools, Power BI, or similar platforms to create dashboards that visualize master data performance and trends.
- Train and Collaborate. This includes training end users on master data creation, maintenance, and compliance with master data standards. This involves fostering cross-functional collaboration with IT, operations, and reliability teams to improve master data practices. This involves assisting the Master Data/SAP Manager in communicating master data updates, process changes, and governance requirements.
- Continuously improve. This includes proactively identifying opportunities to streamline master data processes and improve data quality. This involves supporting system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations related to master data management. This involves participating in initiatives to align site-level master data practices with global business standards.
