 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Job Description

 

The primary role of this position is the management, leadership, and coordination of activities across all SKM sectors. This includes planning, prioritization, communication, safety leadership, cost control, communicating strategic direction, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

 

  • Mentoring and Technical Assessment
    • Coach teams in accordance with HR policies

    • Regularly assess the skills and performance of team members

    • Standardize evaluations across teams

    • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing

    • Provide technical support and continuous feedback

    • Participate in department projects

    • Align with Glencore’s Asset Management Framework (Element 5)

    • Monitor schedules and implement corrective actions in case of delays

 

  • Health, Safety, Environment & Community (HSE&C)
    • Ensure compliance with HSE&C policies and systems

    • Promote a proactive safety culture

    • Prevent incidents through active safety management

    • Lead safety observations, meetings, and investigations

    • Quickly identify hazards and assess risks

 

  • Asset Management and Continuous Improvement
    • Plan and coordinate activities to meet targets

    • Optimize productivity and profitability

    • Manage budgets and track costs

    • Monitor performance indicators and address gaps

    • Support continuous improvement initiatives

 

Job Requirements

 

  • University degree required, minimum A1 level or equivalent

  • Engineering degree required

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience on mining shovels

  • Prior experience with CAT Level 1, 2, and 3 equipment, or other mining equipment from a recognized OEM

  • Interim experience in a Superintendent role

  • Certified training on CAT 6060 and 6030 or TEREX (or equivalent) shovels – hydraulic systems

  • Certification on electrical systems of CAT 6060, 6030, or TEREX (or equivalent) shovels

  • Proficient in MS Office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Knowledge of AMT or similar CMMS software

  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings

  • Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Ability to use the CAT SIS system

  • CAT Level 2 certification
