 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Description de poste 

 

 

The primary role of this position is the management, leadership, and coordination of activities across all sectors of SKM. This includes planning, prioritization, communication, safety leadership, cost control, communication of strategic direction, and achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

 

  •  Mentorship and Technical Evaluation
    • Supervise teams in accordance with HR policies
    • Regularly assess skills and performance
    • Ensure consistent performance reviews
    • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing
    • Train, coach, and support employees
    • Participate in departmental projects
    • Apply the RACI strategy of Glencore's asset management framework

 

  • Health, Safety, Environment & Community
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development

    • Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness

    • Adopt and enforce HSE behaviors in accordance with the KCC Code of Conduct

    • Prevent incidents through proactive risk management

    • Lead HSE observations, investigations, and meetings

    • Identify, assess, and address on-site hazards

 

  • Asset Management and Continuous Improvement
    • Plan and coordinate activities to meet objectives

    • Supervise teams to ensure performance

    • Optimize productivity, efficiency, and profitability

    • Manage budgets and control costs

    • Monitor performance indicators and address gaps

    • Contribute to continuous improvement of practices

 

Exigences du poste

 

Qualifications et expérience

 

  • University degree required, minimum A1 level or equivalent
  • Engineering degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience on mining shovels
  • Previous experience with CAT equipment Levels 1, 2, and 3 or other mining equipment from a recognized OEM
  • Interim experience in a Superintendent role
  • Certified training on CAT 6060, 6030, or TEREX (or equivalent) shovels – hydraulic systems
  • Certification on electrical systems of CAT 6060, 6030, or TEREX (or equivalent) shovels
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Knowledge of AMT or a similar CMMS
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings
  • Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Ability to use the CAT SIS system
  • CAT Level 2 certification
  • Strong command of English is highly recommended
