 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Job Description 

 

The primary role of this position is to manage, lead, and coordinate activities across all SKM sectors. This includes planning, prioritizing, communication, safety leadership, cost control, conveying strategic direction, and achieving performance indicator targets.

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

 

Mentoring and Technical Evaluation

  • Lead teams in accordance with HR policies.
  • Regularly evaluate the skills and performance of team members.
  • Ensure consistency in evaluations and development within the department.
  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
  • Participate in department projects and apply Glencore’s RACI strategy (Element 5).
  • Monitor schedules and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

 

Health, Safety, Environment & Community (HSE&C)

  • Promote a proactive safety culture in line with HSE policies.
  • Conduct safety observations, meetings, and incident investigations.
  • Identify, assess, and address workplace hazards and risks.
  • Ensure enforcement of KCC's HSE Code of Conduct.

 

Asset Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Plan and coordinate activities to meet performance objectives.
  • Optimize productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Manage budgets and control costs.
  • Track KPIs, analyze gaps, and propose improvements.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of practices.

 

Exigences du poste

Qualifications et expérience

 

  • Engineering degree.
  • University degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Superintendent on mining drills.
  • Over 5 years of supervisory experience on mining drills.
  • Previous experience with ATLAS COPCO equipment (Levels 1, 2, 3) or other mining equipment from a recognized OEM.
  • Acting experience in a Superintendent role.
  • Proven decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated frontline management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with AMT or similar CMMS.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple technical drawings.
  • Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to use CAT ET and SIS systems.
  • ATLAS COPCO Level 2 certification.
