Job description.
Under the direct supervision of the Manager HS Health Hygiene Safety Systems and Improvement, the post holder will be responsible for leading a team that creates value by promoting health and safety in the Mines Department by:
- Creating a forward-looking view of changing risk levels and facilitating actions before people are harmed.
- Supporting operational management to implement and improve health and safety processes and practices that achieve the organization's safety objectives.
He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive):
1. Establish a work management system to deliver actions from HSEC Audits, HPRIs, FHP and Safework Assurance activities – on time and to the right quality:
Identifying the work required in the action.

2. Implement and improve the work management system for action management:

- Establish systems and routines to enable line leaders and actions owners to monitor compliance to work management system for actions and recommend actions to improve
- Provide high quality, data driven work management (actions) performance reports and insights
- Facilitate completion of actions that improve the quality and rapid execution of actions.
3. Build capability in the line leadership to be excellent at applying the work management system for action management:

- Ensure training material is developed and incorporated into the relevant peoples training plans.
- Train and coach line leaders in the work management system for action management
- Lead and coach safety team and junior planners in the work management system for action management.
4. Oversee the development of specific projects related to relevant actions and ensure that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently:

- Evaluate projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhere to budgets, and meet deadlines
- Manage expenditure in accordance with approved budget
- Manage contracts in line with KCC contract and commercial requirements
5. Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders relevant to the role.

- Liaise with government, community and industry stakeholders as required by actions assigned, in line with KCC standards and Glencore compliance requirements.
