Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, abbreviated as KCC SA, is a company governed by Congolese law operating in Kolwezi, the capital of Lualaba Province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
KCC SA carries out large-scale mining of copper and cobalt ores. It comprises an underground mine, open-pit mines, and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation holds one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life exceeding 25 years.

The role of the incumbent will be to manage, develop and deliver specialized training programs for Dump Truck Operators. This will include creating and maintaining educational materials, conducting theoretical and practical assessments, as well as tracking observations of planned tasks to ensure compliance with company standards and safety regulations. He/she will also be responsible for managing training schedules, maintaining records and providing feedback to improve the performance of trainees.
He/She will have, among others, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Coordinate training interventions : This will include liaising with external training providers or internal departments for the organisation of specialised or mandatory training programmes. It will also be a question of coordinating all the training interventions planned specifically for the mining truck training section, ensuring that these trainings align perfectly with production schedules and do not disrupt the operational continuity of the site.
- Provide administrative management of training : This will include rigorously tracking attendance at training, proactively monitoring training compliance, and escalating gaps identified to relevant stakeholders. This role will also involve taking all the necessary steps, such as arranging catering, preparing course materials, making travel and accommodation arrangements, and obtaining learner information through the Learning Management System (LMS) to maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, including the issuance of certificates.
- Plan mobile heavy equipment operator training : This will include the exhaustive identification of all specific training for mobile heavy equipment operators, especially those dedicated to mining trucks, which are provided in the open-air training section. It will also be a question of accurately planning the dates and times for each training intervention and integrating the training calendar into the company's intranet for maximum visibility and accessibility.
- Develop and revise training materials : This will include the development, review, and standardization of training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and competency tools specific to mining truck equipment. The goal will be to ensure that all educational materials reflect safe work practices, risk control methods, and critical task protocols, ensuring relevant and safe training.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs : This will include the continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of the implemented training programs by measuring key indicators such as employee performance, knowledge retention, and other relevant metrics. It will also be necessary to develop specific corrective measures and constructive recommendations for the continuous improvement of the quality of training.
- Conduct competency assessments and observations of planned tasks : This will include supporting and conducting Prior Learning Recognition (RPL - OEM) and Competency Verification (VoC) assessments. It will be imperative to ensure that all operator assessments are conducted in accordance with the company's rules and guidelines, always maintaining the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.
- Provide hands-on and refresher training : This will include facilitating hands-on training that is aligned with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications, machine health preventative maintenance routines, and mine-site-specific procedures. It will also provide refresher and upskilling courses for operators, technicians and apprentices, to continuously improve their skills.
- Supervise and mentor junior trainers : This will include mentoring junior trainers, apprentices, and other employees in equipment operation and preventative maintenance practices. The role will be to ensure that all training provided, whether by the incumbent or by the trainers they supervise, reflects safe working practices, risk control and critical task protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements : This will include the rigorous monitoring of compliance with all safety, health and environmental requirements at the open-air training centre. It will be essential to ensure that all training activities are carried out in strict compliance with relevant standards and regulations, thus contributing to a safe working environment.
- Assist in the training needs assessment and budget process : This will include providing direct and substantive support to the Superintendent of Open Training in the assessment of staff training needs. This role will also involve an active and significant contribution to the process of preparing the annual training budget, thus contributing to the strategic planning of skills development initiatives.
