Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the supervision of the Mine Engineering & ST Planning Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all underground mining operations in real time from the control room. He/she ensures the safe, efficient and compliant execution of the production, development and support activities, monitoring people, equipment and systems. The incumbent manages operational deviations, ensures data integrity and provides strong leadership to the Mine Control team in order to achieve the mine's safety, production and overall performance objectives.
He/She will have, among others, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Supervise control room operations. This includes directing and supervising the Mine Control Technicians on duty, ensuring continuous monitoring of underground activities (production, development, logistics), ensuring continuity of communications between teams and ensuring the quality of shift shifts and operational logs.
- Manage the execution of the production plan in the short term. This includes being primarily responsible for achieving the daily weekly plan, tracking deviations from the plan, adjusting priorities in real-time, applying appropriate dispatching tactics, and bringing operations back on schedule.
- Ensure the technical control of Mine Control systems. This includes maintaining fleet control, dispatch, communication and monitoring systems at a high level of performance, ensuring the integrity of system configurations, monitoring hardware and software assets and ensuring the continuous availability of critical infrastructure.
- Coordinate interfaces with internal departments. This includes working closely with the Operations, Planning, Backfill, Ventilation, Geotechnical, Security, Metallurgy, Surveying and Maintenance teams to ensure business alignment, backfill integration, adherence to technical recommendations and completion of the mine plan.
- Manage security and critical situations. This includes monitoring safety conditions in real-time, reporting and analysing incidents, applying and enforcing emergency procedures, ensuring traceability of safety events and collaborating with the HSE department to reduce operational risks.
- Supervise, train and develop the Mine Control team. This includes coaching, mentoring, and training dispatch technicians and engineers, developing skills in production systems and dispatching tactics, maintaining individual and collective training plans, and ensuring shift coverage.
- Ensure the quality of data and reporting. This includes monitoring the accuracy of production, equipment location, grade, and blending data, producing and validating daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and providing reliable analytics for operational and strategic decision-making.
- Analyze performance and identify opportunities for improvement. This includes analyzing key metrics (productivity, dilution, overbreak, recovery, equipment availability), identifying losses and inefficiencies, recommending corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage Mine Control processes, standards and indicators. This includes defining, updating and enforcing control room procedures, maintaining relevant KPIs for each role, ensuring alignment of dispatch tactics with the overall strategy and the medium- and long-term mining plan.
- Collaborate with external parties. This includes interacting with suppliers, contractors and consultants, overseeing their interventions related to Mine Control systems, and working with project and engineering teams on optimization and digitalization initiatives.
