Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the supervision of the Superintendent Mid-Term Planning, the role of the incumbent will be to develop and implement medium-term mine plans for surface operations, while ensuring safe and efficient mining practices. He/she will be responsible for ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and operational execution over a horizon of up to 24 months. A key part of his mission will also be to mentor and mentor junior engineers to foster their professional development within the planning team.
He/She will have, among others, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Develop and optimize mine plans and extraction schedules : This includes the design of strategic mining sequences that incorporate the geological constraints and geotechnical conditions specific to copper and cobalt deposits. This includes constant data analysis to maximize extraction efficiency while ensuring the safety of the pit walls.
- Manage and maintain medium-term rolling plans (24 months): This includes regularly updating timelines to ensure they are aligned with the company's overall strategic plan. This includes adjusting production forecasts to meet business objectives and ensuring smooth continuity between the short and long term.
- Integrate capital projects and major infrastructure into planning : This includes coordinating major mining infrastructure works to ensure they are delivered on time without disrupting production. This includes the technical planning required for these projects to directly support the planned production volumes.
- Develop cost models and analyze operational data : This includes proactively identifying opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve overall mine productivity. This includes using real data from the field to refine planning models and optimize the use of material and human resources.
- Identify and mitigate mine schedule risks : This includes constantly monitoring potential deviations and escalating critical issues to minimize operational disruptions. This includes the implementation of corrective measures to secure the production trajectory in the face of technical or environmental unforeseen events.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the team : This includes providing high-level technical expertise and practical guidance to junior and design engineers. This includes managing their professional development, setting clear goals, and promoting a safety culture that aligns with company protocols.
