Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Job description.

 

 

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Strategic Minerals Market Strategy ; the incumbent is responsible for managing all supply chain activities, including but not limited to warehousing, inbound logistics, inventory management, and fuel and reagent procurement. Their responsibilities also include implementing and maintaining operational measurement tools to ensure targeted, results-oriented actions from each member of the supply chain operations team, while ensuring that company expectations and service levels are consistently met.

 

 

His/Her essential functions will include, among others (but are not limited to):

 

1.    Security, safety and risk management:

 

•     Ensure compliance of SHE policies and procedures with legislation and internal standards.

•     Zero-accident culture and ensure safety and environmental training for all teams.

•     Supervise the security of warehouses and logistics operations, ensuring the control of material and environmental risks.

•     Manage business continuity and advise management on supply chain risks.

 


2.    Leadership and execution :

 

•     Define the department's priorities and objectives in line with the company's strategy.

•     Monitor performance and intervene to ensure results are achieved.

•     Optimize inventory management, reduce obsolescence and strengthen collaboration with suppliers.

•     Managing communication, change and reliability of internal supply chain processes.

 

3.    Strategy and governance :


•     Contribute to strategic planning, budget preparation and overall performance of the Supply Chain function.

•     Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory and utilizing working capital.

•     Ensure compliance with internal and external governance policies and frameworks.

•     Oversee imports, customs management and logistics cost control.


4.    Human Resources Management :


•     To guide, motivate and develop a high-performing and committed team.
•     To ensure continuing education, skills transfer and succession planning.

•     To play an active role as a mentor and coach to colleagues.

•     Evaluate individual and collective performance, and address discrepancies constructively.


5.    Interface management : 


•     Provide strong Supply Chain leadership to senior management and operational departments.

•     Promote collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to solve complex problems.

•     Manage supplier relationships and promote sustainable partnerships.
•     Implement innovative working methods that promote efficiency and continuous improvement.


6.    Warehousing and logistics operations:


•     Assume full responsibility for warehousing and logistics operations for KCC.

•     Analyze warehouse performance and implement improvement actions.

•     Ensuring inventory reliability, regulatory compliance, and logistical performance.

•     Supervise service level agreements (SLAs) with logistics providers and monitor their execution.


7.    Materials planning and inventory management : 


•     Define and implement the on-site inventory planning and optimization strategy.
•     Collaborating with maintenance and operational teams to anticipate critical needs.

•     Analyze inventory data and implement continuous optimization plans.
•     Supervise the disposal procedure and the management of obsolete stock.


8.    Continuous improvement : 


•     Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and performance.
•     Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.

•     Represent KCC at key meetings and strengthen strategic partnerships.
•     Aligning priorities with the evolving needs of stakeholders and the business.

 


Job requirements.


Qualifications and experience.

 

•    Hold a university or higher degree in management, business, mining or supply chain management;
•    Possess a higher qualification in Business Management;
•    Being a member or holding an accreditation from a recognized organization in the field of supply chain would be an advantage;

•    Demonstrate at least ten (10) years of experience in supply chain management, including five (5) years in an operational leadership role within this function;
•    Experience in project management is an asset;
•    Having worked within a complex international supply chain organization, with in-depth knowledge of materials management, warehousing procedures and logistics;

•    Demonstrate at least five (5) years of experience in the mining sector;
•    Have a valid ONEM card.

 


Technical skills.

 

•    Integrated supply chain management: Mastery of planning, procurement, inventory management, transportation and warehousing processes in a complex industrial environment.
•    Operational analysis and optimization: Ability to use data and tools (ERP, SAP, Power BI, KPI) to drive performance, optimize costs and improve logistics efficiency.
•    Contract management and suppliers: Expertise in negotiating strategic contracts, managing key suppliers and leading procurement projects with high financial stakes.
•    Compliance, governance and risk management : Solid understanding of SHE standards, customs and tax regulations, as well as risk management and business continuity practices.
