Job Description
Reporting to Superintendent –Maintenance Planning and Reliability, Senior Engineer –Reliability is accountable for developing, implement, and continuously improving reliability strategies to ensure optimal performance, safety and availability of equipment and systems.
His role focuses on minimizing downtime, extending asset life, reducing maintenance costs, and driving a proactive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) culture across the organization.
He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

- Ensures standard work procedures and safe systems of work are in place for areas of responsibility; ensuring personnel are trained, equipped and competent to perform work; enforces compliance.
- Enables and verify the safe and healthy execution of all activities to identify potential gaps and risks.
- Identifies and promptly addresses workplace risks and hazards; encourages team to raise concerns.
- Contribute to change and risk management through the application of appropriate assessment and quantification process to ensure that personnel, contractors and the business are not subjected to unnecessary risks.
- Strictly comply with classified plant and life support system statutory maintenance requirements.
- Investigates safety incidents, analyses root causes, implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Promptly addresses and closes out audit actions within or relevant to area of accountability.
- Stay abreast of evolving safety regulations and legislation governing mechanical and electrical equipment and installations ensuring compliance within area of accountability.
- Manage change and risk through the application of appropriate assessment and quantification process to ensure that the business is not deliberately or inadvertently subjected to unnecessary risks.
- Reliability and Asset Performance.

- Lead reliability improvement initiatives to increase equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime
- Perform Root Cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain reliability centered-Centered maintenance (RCM) and risk-based maintenance (RBM) strategies.
- Define criticality and prioritize maintenance activities accordingly.
- Analyze asset performance data to identify trends, failure mode, and improvement opportunities.
- Comply with company policies, procedures and regulatory standards across area of accountability.
- Conducts regular audits and reviews to identify and address any deviations from compliance standards.
- Undertakes all business in adherence to the company Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Fraud prevention policies, procedures and strategies.
- Maintenance strategy and Optimization.

- Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Establish and maintain maintenance plans, Task lists, and inspection intervals.
- Support the implementation of condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis and ultrasonic testing
- Evaluate spare parts strategies and recommend optimal inventory levels
- Align Maintenance strategy to Glencore Asset Management Framework (AMF).
- Data Analysis and Reporting

- Monitor and analyze reliability KPIs such as:
- MTBF (Mean Time between Failures)
- MTTR (Mean time to Repair)
- Asset availability and reliability indices
- Monitor and interpret work management KPIs:
- Schedule work compliance
- Schedule work percentage hours
- Schedule work percentage count
- Utilize CMMS (SAP and AMT) systems to track failures, work orders, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze reliability KPIs such as:
- Engineering and technical support

- Provide reliability input during design, installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment and system.
- Review equipment specification and vendor documentation to ensure reliability requirement are met.
- Support troubleshooting of complex equipment failures.
- Participating in management of change (MOC) processes.
- Leadership and continuous improvement

- Mentor and guide junior reliability and maintenance engineers
- Promote best practices in reliability engineering and maintenance excellence
- Lead continuous improvement projects and cross-functional reliability teams.
- Develop and enforce reliability standards, procedures and best proctices.
- Planning & Scheduling.

- Owns underground maintenance planning, scheduling, and budgeting for fixed, mobile, and electrical plant
- Aligns maintenance execution with production targets and shutdown plans
- Ensures effective resource planning, backlog management, and equipment availability
- Drives waste and rework reduction through accurate job scoping and planning
- Ensures SAP-enabled maintenance planning, data accuracy, and parts management
- Maintains statutory compliance and supports continuous improvement using performance data
- Technical Excellence.

- Leads the Underground Maintenance Planning team to deliver safe and reliable outcomes
- Builds strong collaboration with operations and budget owners
- Drives schedule compliance, quality assurance, and corrective actions
- Implements condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies
- Optimizes preventative maintenance and asset life-cycle performance
- Maintains accurate technical master data within SAP
Job Requirements
Qualifications and experience
- Proven ability in Maintenance reliability and lead reliability engineers.
- Technical excellence in one or more maintenance areas: Mobile equipment maintenance, Electrical maintenance or Fixed plant maintenance planning or reliability
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience reliability Engineering, maintenance engineering or asset management.
- Bachelor’s degree in: Mechanical, Electrical, reliability Engineering, or a related field
- Compliance with reliability standards and procedures
Competences
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering tools and methodologies:
- RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA
- Experience with CMMS systems (SAP and AMT)
- Knowledge of condition monitoring technologies
- Understand of mechanical, electrical amd instrumentation system
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ISO55000, API,IEC..)
