 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Job Description

 

 

Reporting to the Digital Transformation Manager , the incumbent will support the Integrated Operations team in the management of digital and technology projects. He/she will be responsible for creating, maintaining and optimizing data, Big Data platforms and their integration into databases and data lakes, using cloud and on-premise technologies. He/she will develop and automate processes for extracting, validating and transforming raw data into quality data assets for analysis and operations. He/she will ensure that data governance controls are in place in accordance with KCC policies and will seek to improve team efficiency by promoting automated processes. He/she will be responsible for the performance and integrity of the functions' data pipeline.

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):
 
 

1. Data architecture and database management:


•    Design, develop, install and maintain Big Data platforms and data integrations into databases, warehouses and data lakes (cloud and on-premises).
•    Ensure the architectural integrity and efficiency of databases.
•    Ensure the accounting of operational technologies and necessary infrastructures.
•    Ensure that the architecture meets business requirements.
•    Design and implement scalable systems to handle data growth.


2. Data mining :


•    Develop and manage ETL processes to integrate and improve data value chains.
•    Implement processes and procedures to ensure optimal ETL processing and maintain data quality.

 

3. Data quality and compliance:


•    Manage, optimize and standardize metadata from various data sources.
•    Ensure data quality, consistency and security.
•    Implement measures to maintain data integrity across all platforms and ensure confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
•    Recommend new ways to manage and improve data integrity and source reliability.

 

4. Activation of activities commercial :


•    Enable efficient and reliable data collection.
•    Use scripting languages and engineering tools to develop data analysis solutions, tools and models.
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to develop digital strategies and roadmaps to support strategic business objectives.

 

5. Innovation and transformation:


•    Explore new opportunities in data generation and use through research and market research.
•    Develop and deploy new applications of Business Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, etc. to improve operations.

 

6. Change and risk management:


•    Participate in digital steering committees to evaluate new technological proposals or changes in the digital landscape.
•    Ensure that governance and change management processes are applied effectively to identify, address and document risks.

 

7. Process improvement and project management:


•    Liaise with businesses and stakeholders to clarify data needs and assess project feasibility.
•    Perform tasks in accordance with quality or architecture requirements.
•    Apply innovative data techniques to identify and solve pressing problems.
•    Create and maintain advanced analytics platforms and tools.
•    Create and maintain data pipelines to capture, clean and democratize information.
•    Lead, design and create data architectures to support internal product development.
•    Produce high-quality code and follow continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.

 

 

Job Requirements 


Qualifications and experience

 

 

•    Have a degree in Engineering (Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering), Computer Science, Data Science, Software Development, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a similar field.
•    Have more than 8 years of experience in the mining industry.
•    Have more than 5 years of experience in engineering, technology or a related field.
•    Have 3+ years of experience in business improvement management in mining, engineering, technology or related field.
•    Have 2+ years of experience in managing multi-functional, multinational project teams, implementing large and complex business or technology transformation programs, across multiple sites and over multiple years.
 

 

Technical skills.

 

 

•    Have knowledge of SQL ( Structured Query Language ) applied.
•    Have knowledge of Python, PySpark , RedPanda , Dagster , Kubernetes (developer), Docker.
•    Have knowledge in Big Data and Cloud development, such as Databricks , Data Factory , Kafka, Spark, Hadoop and microservices .
•    Have knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or a similar tool.
•    Have knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms, such as JIRA, Azure DevOps or a similar tool.
•    Have proficiency in development with Python, R, Java, C and/or C++.
•    Have a mastery of API integration development.
