Watu Wetu SAS, WW SAS in acronym, is a company under Congolese law operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the main activity of managing a medical service for businesses and A training center. WW SAS serves the companies Kamoto Copper Company SA and Mutanda Mining SARL which are its main shareholders.
The company covers the medical care of all employees of these two companies as well as their family members.
WW SAS comprises three facilities, namely Watu Wetu Clinic in Mumi, Watu Wetu City Site and Watu Wetu Hospital in KCC. With additional services provided by third-party healthcare facilities for employees and dependents located in Lubumbashi and Kinshasa, as well as those referred for specialized treatment not available in Kolwezi.
Watu Wetu SAS provides health services to a population of approximately 70,000 people.

Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Department – Hospitalization. The anesthesiologist-resuscitator is a central player in patient care, ensuring the patient's safety and well-being before, during and after a surgical procedure or an invasive medical procedure.
Assist/support the clinical operation of WW.
As a specialist in anesthesia and intensive care, he works closely with surgeons, emergency physicians, obstetricians, pediatricians, internists, general practitioners and nurses to ensure high-quality, safe, competent, efficient and well-centered care for the population served.
He will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Pre-anesthetic consultation: Assess the patient's health, medical history (allergies, current treatments, chronic illnesses), and the specific risks associated with the planned procedure. Inform the patient and their family about the different anesthesia options (general, locoregional), the procedure, and post-operative pain management.
- Intraoperative Management: Administer the chosen anesthesia, whether for general surgery, a cesarean section, a pediatric procedure, or an internal medicine procedure. Continuously monitor the patient's vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygenation, temperature) and adjust the anesthesia according to the progress of the operation.
- Post-operative monitoring: Monitor the patient in the post-operative monitoring room (PMR) until they are fully recovered and return to a stable condition. Manage post-operative pain and anticipate potential complications.
- Take care of critically ill patients with failure of one or more vital functions (respiratory, cardiac, neurological, renal).
- Diagnose and treat medical and surgical emergencies, whether related to a complication of anesthesia, trauma or serious pathology (e.g., septic shock, major hemorrhage).
- Participate in the management of emergency situations within the clinic, ensuring a rapid and coordinated response.
- Work closely with surgeons to prepare for procedures and manage complex cases.
- Work as a team with obstetricians-gynecologists to care for patients in the delivery room (epidurals, anesthesia for cesareans).
- Interact with pediatricians to adapt anesthesia protocols to the specific needs of children and infants.
- Collaborate with internists for the anesthesia of patients with complex pathologies.
- Train and supervise nursing anesthetists (NANs) and recovery room nurses.
- Respond and act on patients referred for anesthesia and resuscitation.
- Contribute to the quality of patient care by participating in case planning, and referral to internal or external medical specialists or other health care facilities.
- Health education, counseling and information for patients on ways to improve health and prevent disease, as well as interventions or treatments for risk factors.
- Ensure that all medical staff in the anesthesia and intensive care units are familiar with and comply with internal and daily operating procedures. This is particularly important in terms of handovers between rotating staff and during shift changes.
- Ensure that tasks are performed professionally, efficiently and ethically, in accordance with international standards and evidence-based medical practices within the standard of care.
- Establish a clear schedule for performing tasks.
- Ensure clear and documented patient handover and recovery (annual leave or change of team).
- Ensure harmonious collaboration, teamwork and maintain good communication with all departments and disciplines within Watu Wetu, shareholders as well as with local doctors and health institutions.
- Submit work reports as requested by hospital management
- Submit performance reviews on time.
- Ensure that complete, accurate, and concise medical records and reports (paper and digital) are maintained for patients, including a properly signed, dated, and legible entry in the patient's medical record for each patient attendance.
- Ensure that the confidentiality of patient information and medical records is maintained.
- Ensure that correspondence (i.e. referral letter, sick note, etc.) is completed in a timely manner and that all such correspondence is completed before the patient leaves Watu Wetu.
- Ensure that all information entered into the hospital management system (Pro-Clin) is accurate, appropriate and in accordance with agreed protocols.
