Main Objectives of the Position
Reporting to the General Manager - Projects, the Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of capital and sustaining projects across Mutanda Mining's operations.
The incumbent will manage multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, within scope, on schedule, and within budget. The role also provides leadership in stakeholder engagement, contractor management, project governance, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with MUMI and Glencore standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or another related engineering discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems is an advantage.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience managing capital projects within mining, EPCM, heavy industrial, or infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience delivering multidisciplinary projects throughout the complete project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors, consultants, and engineering service providers.
- Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Experience managing project risks, change management, and project governance.
- Previous experience in open-pit mining operations will be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of capital and sustaining projects from concept through commissioning and operational handover.
- Develop project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, within scope, on schedule, and within approved budgets.
- Monitor project progress using appropriate project management tools and performance indicators.
- Manage project risks, opportunities, and change control processes.
- Prepare regular project reports, forecasts, and executive presentations for senior management.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with MUMI Project Management Framework, Glencore standards, and statutory requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement, lessons learned, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project close-out activities, including documentation, performance reviews, and operational handover.
- Comply with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
