Main Objectives of the Position
Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership in establishing, developing, and implementing Project Controls and Project Management Office (PMO) functions across Mutanda Mining's capital project portfolio.
The incumbent will develop governance frameworks, project control systems, and standardized methodologies that ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, within approved budgets, and on schedule. This role will provide executive-level reporting, portfolio oversight, and strategic guidance to project teams while driving continuous improvement in project performance and maximizing business value.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Process Engineering, Project Management, or another related engineering discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems is highly desirable.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Project Controls and Project Management Office (PMO) roles within mining, EPCM, or large industrial environments.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing Project Controls systems and governance frameworks.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary Project Controls teams.
- Strong experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience managing large-scale mining capital projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Previous experience in both open-pit and underground mining environments will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Project Controls frameworks, governance processes, and PMO methodologies aligned with industry best practices.
- Establish and maintain centralized project information management systems.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Monitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM), KPI dashboards, and variance analysis.
- Develop project risk management strategies and change control processes.
- Lead the implementation of project cost management and forecasting systems.
- Build and lead a high-performing Project Management Office (PMO).
- Develop project management standards, templates, and governance documentation.
- Provide coaching and technical support to Project Managers and project teams.
- Coordinate portfolio resource planning across multiple capital projects.
- Deliver executive reporting and strategic project recommendations to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, digitalisation, and automation within the Project Controls function.
- Ensure compliance with Glencore Environmental Management requirements and MUMI SARL Environmental Policy.
