Job description.

 

 

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Operational Investigation , the incumbent will be responsible for managing and supervising investigative operations within the security department. This will include overseeing the collection of criminal statistics, managing a team of investigators working 24/7, managing seized items, managing arrests and detention periods, as well as supervising security-related investigations in the field. He/She will also ensure that detention conditions meet standards, and will rigorously process intelligence to prevent risks, both internal and external. Finally, he/she will intervene to prevent and manage events that may affect the organization's relations with the local community.

 


He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive):

 

•    Ensure continuous management of investigative activities day and night, distribute files among investigators, track critical incidents and ensure rigorous documentation.
•    Supervise rotating investigators, ensure their training, establish schedules and ensure compliance with protocols and professional ethics.
•    Respond quickly to serious incidents, conduct or support investigations into offenses or misconduct, and collaborate with internal services and authorities.
•    Ensure proper management of evidence, validate investigation reports, ensure archiving in accordance with internal procedures and regulations, and maintain traceability of files.
•    Ensure that investigations comply with local laws, internal policies and confidentiality, and produce regular reports on investigation performance indicators.
•    Collaborate with Security, HR, Legal, Surveillance and Intelligence departments for consistent and seamless management of incidents and investigations.
•    Analyze survey results to identify trends, support intelligence gathering and recommend preventive measures.
•    Supervise the management of seized items, ensure compliance with the chain of custody, monitor the detention and treatment conditions of suspects in accordance with legal standards.
•    Conduct field investigations, monitor detention conditions, collect intelligence on internal/external threats, and prevent community unrest affecting the company.

 


Job requirements .


Qualifications and experience.

 

•    Hold a university degree in law, criminology, security management or related field.
•    Have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in investigations, law enforcement or corporate security, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
•    Have a certification in security management.
•    Have a good understanding of criminal law, investigative procedures and legal compliance.

 


Technical skills.

 

•    Good understanding of criminal law, investigative procedures and legal compliance.
•    Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams working in 24/7 rotations.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in pressured or time-sensitive environments.
•    Proficiency in writing clear, concise and legally sound investigation reports.
•    Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in French; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
•    Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
•    Knowledge of evidence management procedures, chain of custody protocols and internal investigation best practices.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and survey management software.
