Job description.
Under the direct supervision of the Truck Park Technician , the incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the Truck Park, including mechanical inspections of trucks, traffic control, and ensuring drivers comply with safety requirements. They verify driver manifests and documents, enter information into the systems (Orb Fusion), perform truck weighing operations, prepare proof of delivery, and track and close transactions related to truck dispatch and unloading.
He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
• Perform a full inspection of the trucks in accordance with the KCC mechanical inspection checklist , complete the form and ensure it is signed by the driver.
• Take photos of trucks for certain specific goods as instructed by the Truck Park Technician.
• Guiding drivers to park their trucks correctly in the parking lot, managing available space and preventing incidents, while ensuring the use of wheel chocks.
• Receive the driver's documents (Manifest, Delivery Note, Invoice, customs documents and ID) and verify the accuracy of the information (destination, KCC order number, date, etc.).
• Verify compliance with the inspection checklist .
• Check the validity of the driver's induction in the system and indicate it on the Manifest or Delivery Note.
• Enter truck and driver information into the Orb system, scan required documents and upload them to the system.
• Submit the information for generating the truck tracking number and indicate this number on the Manifest or delivery note.
• Verify the accuracy of the information on the commercial and customs documents, then enter the data into the system.
• Confirm in the system whether the truck should be directed to the weighbridge or not.
• Perform the truck weighing operation and record the data in the database.
• Print two copies of the weighbridge tickets and check for any weight discrepancies before releasing the truck from the weighbridge.
Job requirements.
Qualifications and experience.
• Hold a state-recognized diploma;
• Have at least 2 years of operational experience in import and/or Truck Park management in mining companies;
• Having worked in a logistics department (import – export, transit, customs clearance);
Technical skills.
• Ability to speak French and English; complete fluency in English would be an asset for the candidate;
• Mastering the use of computer tools (especially Excel);
• Ability to learn, understand and interpret import manifests, customs documents and procedures;
• Ability to learn and effectively use ERP systems such as SAP, ORB FUSION, KLERCKSACLE, etc.
