Job description

 

Under the supervision of the Superintendent – Investigations , the incumbent will be responsible for conducting investigations related to incidents, misconduct, accidents, asset protection, and violations of internal policies. They will be required to gather and analyze evidence, follow up on cases, and prepare accurate and impartial reports, in accordance with legal requirements and KCC's internal procedures. Their findings will contribute to risk management, maintaining organizational integrity, and supporting informed decision-making.

 


His/Her essential functions will include, among others (non-exhaustive list):

 

1.    Conducting investigations

 

•    Lead and conduct operational and compliance investigations regarding alleged thefts, internal policy violations and employee misconduct, ensuring strict adherence to internal procedures, Group standards and applicable legal requirements.

 

2.    Road traffic management

 

•    Prepare and formalize on-site and off-site accident reports (incident reports) involving company vehicles.
•    Collect, secure and analyze evidence (photographs, witness statements, documents)
•    Ensure that all incidents are fully and accurately documented.

•    To support or participate in root cause analysis in order to identify contributing factors
•    Maintain appropriate records for audit and legal purposes

 

3.    Regulatory compliance and administrative monitoring

 

•    Liaise with the Traffic Police for all accidents occurring outside KCC premises
•    Ensure that all cases are followed up until their closure, in accordance with legal requirements.
•    To monitor compliance with legal deadlines and administrative procedures

•    Ensure full traceability and proper filing of all documents related to the files

 

4.    Insurance management

 

•    Ensure that accidents are reported to insurers promptly, within the legal time limits.
•    Prepare and submit complete claims files
•    To monitor claims until their final resolution and settlement

•     Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate claims processing.

 

5.    Speed control and road safety management

 

•    Plan, organize, and supervise speed control operations within KCC facilities
•    Identify, document and report traffic violations
•    Contribute to road safety awareness and prevention initiatives

•    Analyze trends and statistics related to traffic violations and propose corrective measures.

 

6.    Asset protection (IT equipment and company assets)

 

•    Managing incidents related to the loss or theft of IT equipment (phones, laptops, etc.)
•    Initiate and support internal investigations related to these incidents
•    Maintain an up-to-date incident log and tracking system

•    Recommend and monitor the implementation of preventive and corrective measures aimed at reducing asset losses

 

7.    Compliance and ethics

 

•    Ensure strict adherence to KCC's internal procedures and policies
•    Ensuring compliance with Congolese legal and regulatory frameworks
•    Promote and respect human rights standards, including the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR)

•    Ensure the confidentiality and proper management of sensitive information

 

 

Job requirements 

 

Qualifications and experience

 

•    Hold a bachelor's degree in law, criminology or a related field.
•    Must be at least 3 to 5 years old professional experience in the field of investigations, law enforcement, law or corporate security, including at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
•    Having a security management certification would be an advantage. A good understanding of criminal law, investigative procedures, and legal compliance requirements is also necessary .

 

Technical skills.

 

•    Proven expertise in Congolese criminal law and criminal procedure, with a deep understanding of the applicable legal framework and law enforcement mechanisms.
•    Solid understanding of security operations in high-risk, industrial or mining environments.
•    Excellent knowledge of security tools and technologies.

•    Excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Experience in incident management frameworks and security standards.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

•    Proficiency in investigative methods (fact-finding, interviews, digital forensics).
•    Solid understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in the fight against fraud, corruption and harassment.
•    Skills in report writing and presentation of files.

•    Analysis and documentation of evidence.
