Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor: Underground Mine Control, the incumbent ensures real-time monitoring of underground mining operations from the control room. He/she monitors the movements of equipment and personnel, records production data, applies dispatch instructions and reports any anomaly or risk situation. The position contributes directly to the safety, performance and continuity of operations.
He/She will have, among others, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):
- Monitor underground operations in real-time. This includes tracking production, development, and logistics activities, observing the movement of equipment and personnel, and alerting in the event of anomalies.
- Apply dispatching instructions. This includes executing dispatch instructions provided by the Supervisor, assigning equipment according to the plan, and optimizing operational flows.
- Record and update operational data. This includes entering production, shutdowns, equipment location and safety event data into Mine Control systems.
- Monitor communication systems. This includes checking that radios, networks and tracking systems are working properly, reporting faults and assisting in their resolution.
- Maintain shift logs and reports. This includes completing shift logs, documenting incidents, preparing succession reports, and ensuring event traceability.
- Apply safety and emergency procedures. This includes recognizing critical alarms, applying established procedures, assisting with evacuations, and informing management.
- Support the field teams. This includes providing real-time information to operational teams, facilitating coordination, and relaying plan priorities.
- Verify the consistency of the data and information displayed. This includes checking the accuracy of dispatch screens, charts, and locations, and correcting or reporting any inconsistencies.
- Participate in system controls and audits. This includes attending daily system checks, participating in material inventories, and supporting Mine Control audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement. This includes escalating recurring issues, proposing practical improvements, and participating in the department's trainings and initiatives.
