 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Job Description

 

Reporting directly to the GM Capital Projects - Processing, the incumbent will be responsible to effectively apply modern best practice principles in managing all lifecycle stages of strategic initiatives, projects and programs within the organization in compliance with governance frameworks. The Engineering Projects Manager is responsible for supporting the business, driving growth and optimizing operational efficiency through implementing key projects that align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.

 

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive list):

 

  • Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure that technical designs comply with KCC specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Verify that construction aspects of all projects in execution comply with prescribed standards.
  • Ensure that the QAQC engineer identifies corrective work and non-conformities.
  • Carry out project designs according to relevant specifications.
  • Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as KCC's environmental policy.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications and experience.

 

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Affiliation to a recognized Engineering or Projects Management professional body or Professional Engineer certificate, and a Professional Project Management Certificate (PMP).
  • Post graduate qualification in business management and/or leadership will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the mining/mineral processing sector, including direct management of major engineering project teams
  • Proven technical expertise and engineering management on major projects (>$50M) and greater knowledge and experience in other related disciplines
  • Financial management and its impact on programs, including capex budgetting
  • Management of major projects from start to finish,
  • Strong knowledge and experience in major project lifecycles, ensuring that all approvals are obtained at all phases of projects, from design to pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, and execution, and
  • Implementation of project management processes and the associated financial system.

 

 

Technical skills.

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, report writing and presentation skills
  • Functional experience with business enterprise resourcing programs such as SAP
  • Proficient in the application of project management tools such as CAD, planning and scheduling software
  • Management of project teams in a demanding environment to ensure project delivery on schedule, cost and quality, and that business objectives are met.
  • Structured problem solving, schedule, budget, quality and risk control
