 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Job description.

 

 

Reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain, the incumbent will be responsible for all stages of the material procurement process. This includes identifying cost reduction opportunities, creating competitive environments, strategic negotiation, and developing contracts to ensure the continued availability of products needed to achieve business objectives.

 

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive):

 

 

•    Purchasing Planning and Supervision : Organize, direct and evaluate procurement activities, while ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
•    Tender management : Launch and coordinate calls for tenders with local and international service providers.
•    Contract Analysis and Negotiation : Review contractual terms, propose alternatives, validate contracts and conduct win-win negotiations.
•    Contractual and Legal Compliance : Ensure contracts comply with company policies and collaborate with the legal department in the event of disputes.
•    Sourcing Strategy : Define and implement strategic sourcing objectives aligned with business needs.
•    Supplier Relations : Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through meetings, trade shows, conferences, etc.
•    Supplier Performance Management : Implement a supplier management program with metrics, performance objectives and improvement initiatives.
•    Supplier Market Analysis : Monitor changes in supplier bargaining power and anticipate trends.
•    Inter-departmental support : Collaborate with Engineering, Mining and Process departments to align their objectives with the procurement strategy.
•    ERP Systems Improvement : Participate in ERP system improvement committees and ensure the quality of transactions processed.
•    Key Indicator Monitoring (KPI) : Ensure daily monitoring of request and purchase order allocations, analyzing lead times and performance.
•    Budget Optimization : Contribute to short and long-term budget planning to support the company's strategic objectives.
•    Development of purchasing policies and procedures : Establish procurement policies and procedures ensure their compliance throughout the organization.
•    Team Management : Develop a sound and efficient organisation structure to support Business Strategy; Set measurable KPIs for all team members; Supervise, train and evaluate team members as required in the KCC Performance Management Farmwork; Promoting professional development and driving the execution of succession plans.
•    Ensure operational efficiency : Anticipate demand, manage forecasts and place orders based on supplier lead times.

 

 

Job requirements .


Qualifications and experience.

 

 

•    Hold a bachelor's degree in business (finance), engineering, supply chain or similar field.
•    Have at least 10 years of experience in purchasing or strategic sourcing .
•    Have at least 5 years of experience in a management position.
•    Have proven experience in the mining sector or in operational/ supply environments similar chains .
•    Have a good command of legal terminology related to supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
•    Ability to communicate in French will be an advantage.

•    Proficiency in ERP systems related to the supply chain.
•    Proven skills in report writing, data analysis and workflow management.
•    Experience in implementing procurement and supply chain strategies.
