Maintenance Planning and Master Data Manager 

 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Planning and Master Data Manager to join our team in the copper mining sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The ideal candidate will be responsible to provide data integrity, governance and compliance with business requirements and best practices to support effective and timely maintenance planning and driving a high level of equipment reliability, availability and safety.

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Master Data Management: Evaluate, redesign, and optimize master data solutions to support plant maintenance processes, implementing best practices to achieve optimal performance.
  • Data Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of master data across systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in master data management practices.
  • Prototyping and Proof of Concept: Develop prototypes/proofs of concept to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed master data solutions. Gather feedback from stakeholders and refine designs.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with operations and asset data owners, providing leadership to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Integration Management: Define integration points between SAP PM, other SAP modules, AMT, COUPA or third-party systems. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow and process integration across the IS landscape.
  • Training AMT: Provide training and support to end-users and key stakeholders on PM master data functionalities, processes, and best practices. Support development of training materials.
  • Training Maintenance Planning: Provide training and development of long- and short-term planners for the mobile equipment fleet at KCC and MUMI in relation to work order management, downtime tracking, financial cost control, backlog management and mobile equipment maintenance metric reporting.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize strong Excel skills to manipulate and analyze large volumes of data, enabling informed decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to master data management. Continuously enhance skills and knowledge to remain effective in the role.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in mobile fleet maintenance and mining operations.
  • 5+ years' experience in critical problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of integration between SAP PM and other SAP modules, particularly MM, FI-CO and integration points with AMT.
  • Exposure to COUPA source-to-pay processes and understanding of integration with S/4 HANA and AMT. 
  • Experience evaluating and advising on technology options related to master data management for equipment maintenance.
  • Proven track record leading SAP and AMT PM master data projects from inception to completion, including solution design, implementation, and post-go-live support.
  • Experience defining data governance policies, standards, and procedures to govern the creation, maintenance, and use of data assets.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including manipulating and analyzing large volumes of data to make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of data governance tools and technologies, such as data cataloguing, metadata management and data quality tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations and asset data owners.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and reach agreement.
  • Accustomed to working under pressure and managing planned and unplanned activities. 
  • Global, cross-cultural work experience.
  • Familiarity with Six Sixma, Lean Maintenance and Cost-Out methodologies. 
  • Proficiency in English languages (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel to mining sites and work in challenging environmental conditions.
