Job description

 

 

Under the supervision of the Senior Logistics Controller - Licenses, the incumbent will be responsible for the complete management of import and export licenses, from the validation phase to their closure, ensuring regulatory compliance, adherence to legal deadlines, and the reliability of information transmitted to internal and external stakeholders, in order to effectively support KCC's logistics operations and production activities.

 


He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

 

 

•    Receive and review applications for import and export licenses, with all required documents (invoices, certificates, authorizations, etc.).
•    Verify the conformity and consistency of the documents received, including details of goods, suppliers, tariff positions and Incoterms.
•    Approve complete and compliant applications; reject and request corrections for incomplete or non-compliant applications.

•    Create and manage files in the SEGUCE system (Import and Export modules) and obtain the corresponding reference numbers (FSI, FXI, FSO, FXO).
•    Enter all information relating to goods and suppliers/service providers into SEGUCE and submit for validation.
•    Follow up on the validation of licenses with commercial banks within the allotted time (48 hours after submission).

•    Follow up with OCC and BIVAC for pre-shipment inspection and obtain COD (VERIGATES) numbers.
•    Update the logistics system with validated license information and communicate to suppliers, freight forwarders and shippers.
•    Create and maintain complete archive folders on Drive K for all licenses and associated documents.

•    Close each license within a maximum period of 365 days, extend if necessary, and make the required modifications or cancellations.
•    Collaborating closely with shippers, freight forwarders and suppliers to track deliveries and ensure regulatory compliance.

•    Coordinate with the Transit & Customs team to verify the consistency of information and guide customs clearance.
•    Process customs documents and ensure that all declarations are received or uploaded within the regulatory deadlines.
•    Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders and ensure continuous regulatory monitoring of imports and exchange rates.

•    Maintain comprehensive reporting on all open and closed licenses, and contribute to improving license management processes.

 


Job requirements 

 

Qualifications and experience

 

•    Hold a university degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or any other equivalent qualification.
•    Possess a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in licensing, logistics or finance.

•    Mastering import and export procedures as well as customs clearance processes.
•    Knowledge of local and international customs regulations, including tariff codes and Incoterms.

 

 

Technical skills.

 

•    Proficiency in ERP systems and logistics management software (SEGUCE or equivalent), as well as advanced Excel tools.
•    Possess solid knowledge in financial management.

•  Knowledge of the customs code, exchange regulations, BCC tariffs and conditions, as well as all regulations relating to license management.

•    Have a good understanding of basic mathematical concepts, with practical experience in dealing with quantities, weights and volumes.

•   The ability to communicate in french and english, both verbally and in writing would be an asset.
