Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
KCC SA exploits copper and cobalt ores on a large scale. It includes an underground mine, open-pit mines and integrated metallurgical facilities. The operation has one of the largest copper reserves in the world, with a current life of over 25 years.

Job description.
Reporting directly to the Litigation Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for preventing potential legal risks to the company and resolving disputes while safeguarding the company's interests. This includes communicating legal opinions to various KCC departments, reviewing and drafting legal documents (letters, policies, contracts, corporate documents), and representing KCC employees before public authorities.
His/Her essential functions will include, among others (but are not limited to):
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents (letters, policies, contracts, corporate documents) and assisting KCC employees before public authorities;
• To provide legal advice on various issues raised by management or any department of KCC SA;
• Advise and assist in answering day-to-day legal questions for the company and its functions, including underwriting, claims, risk and compliance;
• Ensure that all legal permits/licenses required for the company's activities are obtained from the relevant authorities;
• To monitor the collection of data and the transmission of reports intended for the various public administrations;
• Ensure the proper application of legislation, collective agreement and agreements;
• Advise and assist the management and various departments of the company on all legal aspects, particularly related to social law, commercial law, competition law and consumer law;
• Monitor litigation cases using the IT tools in use.
Job requirements.
Qualifications and experience.
• Have a law degree and have at least one(1) year of experience as a lawyer and/or as in-house legal counsel;
• Knowledge of the mining sector would be an asset.
• Have a valid ONEM card.
Technical skills.
• Good knowledge of OHADA law , mining law, contract law, labor law, tax law, criminal law, civil law , etc .;
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English;
• Good knowledge of how the legal system of the DRC works;
• Good command of computer tools ( word , excel , outlook , legal databases);
• Good ability to conduct legal research and to draft concise and relevant opinions and memos.
