Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the Technical Training Superintendent, the incumbent of this is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting mining equipment simulators used for the operators’ training and skill development. He/She will ensure that the simulation systems accurately replicate real-world mining equipment and operations, providing safe and effective training environments.
Minimum qualification
- University Degree in mechanical, electrical, or mining engineering technology.
- Specialized training in simulator operations or heavy equipment operations is an advantage.
- Certificate in Training and Assessment or the equivalent.
Required Experience
- 3–4 years of experience in heavy equipment operations, maintenance, or simulator technology.

Required skills
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing simulator hardware/software.
- Knowledge of mining equipment operations.
- Excellent communication and training facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design a comprehensive training package on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the simulator based on the OEM manual
- Update and manage simulator software, ensuring scenarios are accurate and reflective of real-world operations
- Design and train operators on the Simulator SOP
- Assess competency in simulator operation, including setting up scenarios, monitoring trainee performance, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Keep accurate records of all simulator maintenance, inspections, repairs, software updates, and training.
- Document any technical issues encountered during operation and the actions taken to resolve them.
- Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) while operating and maintaining simulators.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or unsafe conditions within the simulator environment.
- Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
