Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

MUMI is recruiting a:Engineering Central Services Manager”

Main Objectives of the Position

Under the supervision of the Engineering – GM, the Engineering Central Services Manager plans, organizes, and supervises construction, maintenance, and repair works, ensures the performance of technical services, and guarantees the safety, quality, and integrity of infrastructures and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Additional training in business management or leadership is an asset.
  • Membership in a recognized professional engineering organization is an advantage

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining sector or mineral processing, including at least 3 years in a managerial position.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and coaching technical teams is recommended
  • Expertise in technical project management and financial management (budgeting, cost tracking).
  •  

Required Skills

  • Mastery of engineering principles and technologies applied throughout all project phases.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning).
  • Skills in civil/structural engineering and management of structural integrity (inspection, maintenance, compliance).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex industrial systems (crushing, leaching, electrolytic extraction, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in an industrial context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate the company’s strategy into concrete operational actions.
  • Supervise the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, resources, and objectives.
  • Monitor project/work progress, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Define and implement quality control systems and ensure their follow-up.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop the technical team’s skills while promoting a safe, collaborative, and innovative working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and environmental regulations (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Promote sustainable engineering: eco-friendly design, reduction of environmental footprint, energy optimization, etc.
  • Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
