 Kamoto Copper Company Société Anonyme, KCC SA in acronym, is a Congolese company operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager Capital Procurement Engineer , the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support for the design, specification and execution of electrical and instrumentation (E&I) systems within the framework of the KCC processing plant capital and maintenance projects. He/She will ensure that all E&I equipment and systems, including the low and medium voltage electrical infrastructure and the plant's control and monitoring systems, are optimally designed, installed and commissioned to ensure their operation, safety and reliability.

 

He/She will have, among other things, the following essential functions (non-exhaustive):

 

  • Lead the design, sizing and specification of low and medium voltage (LV/MV) electrical systems, including motors, transformers, MCCs, switchgear and cable systems, for use in copper processing operations,
  • Provide technical information for the selection and integration of instrumentation and control systems (e.g. SCADA, PLC, DCS) relevant to crushing, grinding, flotation and Engineering Project Manager – KCC Processing Circuits SX-EW,
  • Prepare and review detailed technical documentation, including load schedules, single-line diagrams, cable sizing reports, I/O lists and instrument data sheets,
  • Manage and oversee E&I scopes throughout the project lifecycle, from FEL stages to execution and commissioning, ensuring alignment with KCC engineering standards and Glencore governance protocols .
  • Supervise and verify installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure systems are delivered according to design, budget and schedule,
  • Coordinate with vendors, EPCM partners and internal disciplines to ensure technically sound and cost-effective solutions;
  • Support procurement processes by reviewing technical bid evaluations and participating in supplier selection,
  • Supervise and verify installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure systems are delivered according to design, budget and schedule,
  • Ensure compliance with DRC statutory requirements and international standards (IEC);
  • Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and interface with operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth systems transfers;

 

Job requirements .

 

Qualifications and experience

 

  • Hold a University degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering from a well-known establishment;
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in E&I engineering with at least 3 years in mining or copper processing projects, ideally in the mining industry or a similar sector;
  • Strong expertise in LV/MV system design and equipment specification, particularly in brownfield environments;
  • Strong working knowledge of instrumentation and automation systems used in copper processing, including SCADA integration, PLC/DCS programming architecture and field instrumentation selection;
  • Experience delivering projects in remote or on-site environments with multicultural and cross-functional teams;
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, Smart Plant or equivalent);
  • Fluency in English and French would be an asset for the candidate himself;
  • Have an ONEM card.

 

      Technical skills .

 

  • Mastery of safety rules relating to electrical installations, protection of equipment and users;
  • Use of software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN for the creation of electrical diagrams.;
  • Experience with financial management software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) for tracking financial transactions and reporting;
  • Knowledge of project costs and schedule;
  • Mastery of electrical standards and instrumentation standards;
