Job description.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for the production, updating, coordination, and management of plans, drawings, and technical documents necessary for project execution. He/She will ensure the preparation of accurate and compliant technical deliverables, monitor studies, and control documentation, in accordance with KCC standards and requirements. The position will also contribute to the coordination of technical information between different disciplines and the monitoring of on-site modifications, particularly through the preparation of as-built drawings.
His/Her responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Producing plans and technical drawings includes preparing architectural, civil and technical detail plans based on data collected on site and instructions from engineers, as well as updating plans in accordance with approved revisions.
- Preparing "as-built" plans includes integrating modifications made on site and producing final plans reflecting the actual state of the facilities and work carried out.
- Providing technical assistance to engineers includes participation in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, presentations and technical reports.
- Carrying out surveys and measurements on site includes collecting and verifying the data necessary for preparing or updating plans and technical drawings.
- Ensuring the management and classification of technical documentation includes classification, naming, version control and archiving of plans in accordance with KCC standards and procedures.
- Ensuring interdisciplinary coordination of drawings includes verifying the consistency of information between civil, architectural, electrical and mechanical disciplines, as well as participating in project coordination and monitoring meetings.
- Ensuring the coordination of deliverables with stakeholders includes communication with Project Engineers, Lead Engineers, Superintendents, Construction and Quality teams, Procurement, Document Control, Planning, as well as with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of drawing standards includes optimizing drawing models and standards, as well as proposing solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of technical deliverables.
Job requirements.
Qualifications and experience.
- Hold a university degree or equivalent in civil engineering, architecture or a related discipline.
- Having additional training in CAD/CAM, particularly AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Civil 3D or equivalent software, is an asset.
- Have a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a similar position, in technical drawing within the framework of construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in a mining or industrial environment is an advantage.
Technical skills.
- Proficiency in drawing and design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and MS Office tools.
- Possess a good understanding of civil engineering and architectural plans as well as technical drawing standards.
- To be able to read and interpret technical specifications and documents.
- Possess a good knowledge of technical documentation standards and engineering procedures.
- Ability to prepare and update technical plans in accordance with engineers' instructions and approved revisions.
- To be able to carry out surveys and measurements on site and to integrate the data collected into technical documents.
- Have a good understanding of the principles of version control, classification and archiving of technical documents.
