Main Objectives of the Position
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Dispatch & Technology Superintendent is responsible for managing all aspects of open-pit mining technology, including deployment, utilization, and optimization. The role ensures accurate production reporting, safe and efficient mining operations, and continuous improvement through advanced technology systems.
The incumbent also provides technical support to site operations, develops the Dispatch team, and contributes as a subject matter expert in mining technology.
Minimum Qualification
Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent (advantageous)
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in mining operations and mining technology
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Professional proficiency in French (English is highly an advantage)
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mining environment
Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining technology systems
Proven experience managing end-to-end technology systems in mining operations
Experience developing systems, policies, and procedures to standardize and optimize mining technology
Required Skills
Experience with Modular Dispatch systems
Experience with HME safety systems (Operator Alertness Systems and Collision Avoidance Systems – Hexagon)
Experience with Rajant network systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical systems and communicate effectively with vendors
Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Positive, proactive, and results-driven mindset
Key Responsibilities
Lead and promote safety, health, and environmental compliance across dispatch and technology operations
Ensure safe operation of Operator Alertness Systems (OAS) and Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS)
Manage and optimize Modular Dispatch system performance and utilization
Ensure integrity and accuracy of production and time data
Coordinate with mine planning and operations teams to align production targets
Conduct audits and identify opportunities to improve dispatch and operational performance
Oversee Rajant network performance and ensure reliable site-wide communication systems
Collaborate with IT teams to maintain continuous connectivity and system availability
Lead and manage dispatch engineers and mining technology technicians
Ensure effective work planning, scheduling, and execution of technology-related activities
Manage unplanned service interruptions and escalate critical issues for rapid resolution
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet efficiency and reduce downtime
Comply with Glencore’s environmental procedures and MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
