Watu Wetu SAS, WW SAS in acronym, is a company under Congolese law operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the main activity of managing a medical service for businesses and A training center. WW SAS serves the companies Kamoto Copper Company SA and Mutanda Mining SARL which are its main shareholders.

The company covers the medical care of all employees of these two companies as well as their family members.

WW SAS comprises three facilities, namely Watu Wetu Clinic in Mumi, Watu Wetu City Site and Watu Wetu Hospital in KCC. With additional services provided by third-party healthcare facilities for employees and dependents located in Lubumbashi and Kinshasa, as well as those referred for specialized treatment not available in Kolwezi.

Watu Wetu SAS provides health services to a population of approximately 70,000 people.

Job Description

 

 

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Occupational Medicine. The incumbent will be required to undertake the assessment process and management of psychological disorders of KCC, MUMI, Watu Wetu agents and other eligible referred patients, whether considered individually or collectively and whatever their nature. Its main function is to promote the autonomy of the personality as well as to ensure recognition and respect for people in their psychological dimension. As a scientist, he contributes to advancing knowledge in psychology. The practice of the clinical psychologist is guided by the principles set out in the Code of Ethics for Psychologists .

He or she is responsible for the psychological assessment of patients with psychological disorders as well as the development and implementation of personalized psychological interventions adapted to the patient's overall care plan.

 

He will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

 

  • Conduct psychological assessments for patients with psychological disorders.
  • To provide the Watu Wetu Occupational Medicine team with insight into the psychological functioning of patients in order to best personalize the various medical-professional and socio-educational interventions.
  • Restore the personality and integration of workers in their professional environment for high profitability.
  • Learning everyday management, normal social life and acceptable professional cohabitation
  • Learning to manage complex and unexpected life situations.
  • Develop and implement individual and group psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Participate in periodic departmental evaluation meetings.
  • Supervise psychology students assigned to Watu Wetu.
  • Participate in the department's training and clinical research activities.
  • Develop professional skills through personal training and supervision.
  • Proactively collaborate with leadership to plan strategic DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the department and occupational health leaders to address DEI challenges and develop long- term goals, action plans, and measurement criteria for DEI programs.
  • Develop policies and procedures to combat discrimination in the workplace and foster a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
  • Design, develop and deliver effective training programs to support DEI objectives, Contribute to the development and implementation of DEI policies and procedures.
  • Conduct research and evaluate data relating to the evolution of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Conduct DEI audits and assessments and track progress while reporting on progress.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the wellness program and ensure appropriate socialization.
  • Assist in the development and management of various wellness initiatives, policies, procedures, data, information systems and resources to increase program awareness.
  • Coordinate data collection, assessments and analyses for well-being interventions and propose measures for improvement.
  • Working with external wellness providers and ensuring the program is implemented well,
  • Analyze data using statistical methods and applications to evaluate the outcomes and effectiveness of workplace programs.
  • Provide psychological assessments of employees and advise managers on personnel and organizational development issues.
  • Conduct studies and research on assessment tools and advise on best tools and practices, while regularly monitoring their validity.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including human resources, and propose strategies on cultural change to support individuals and managers in organizational change.
  • Helping employees break down biases and stereotypes to create a culture of high performance and excellence.

 

 

 

 

Job requirements .

           

 

Qualifications and experience.

 

 

  • Be of Congolese nationality.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in clinical and/or industrial psychology.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field experience as a General Practitioner, including a minimum of two years of experience in a medical management position.
  • Public speaking skills and abilities and support.
  • Knowledge of Congolese culture and norms is an asset.
  • Fluency in French and Swahili.

 

 

Technical skills.

 

 

  • Expert knowledge in clinical psychology and psychopathology of adults and work.
  • Expert knowledge of the main psychometric tools in worker psychopathology.
  • Expert knowledge in psychotherapy.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical psychology and psychopathology of personality disorders.
  • Extensive knowledge in health psychology and medical psychology.
  • Ability to conduct a psychological assessment.
  • Ability to develop and implement psychological interventions based on evidence, regardless of the theoretical-clinical framework ( cognitive -behavioral, psychodynamic, systemic, etc.).
