Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of the General Manager Finance, the Business Analysis and Planning Manager is responsible for the execution of the financial planning process, management accounting and costing function, system development and continuous improvements within the BAP team.

 

Minimum qualification

 

  • Possess a university degree in Finances, accounting.
  • Chartered accountant certification

 

Required Experience

 

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the financial control/Budget Analysis & Planning area with a minimum of 3 years as a manager in large scale mining environment

  • Significant analytical skills, including the use of business intelligence (BI) and reporting tools
  • Strong skills in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze business operations, financial performance, and market trends.
  • Identify business opportunities, risks, and areas of improvement.
  • Evaluate current business processes and recommend improvement.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and business case analysis for new initiatives.
  • Lead and execute mine life (LOM), budget process and ongoing forecast updates.
  • Develop and manage the processes to submit budget, forecast and LOM results in group reporting templates
  • Support development of annual business planning and long-term strategies
  • Support the development and review of business cases for strategic opportunities, projects and other ad-hoc requirements
  • Support preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and financial models
  • Conduct variances analysis between actual and planned performance
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly yearly business performance reports.
  • Develop dashboards and KPI’s to track organizational performance.
  • Work closely with departments and facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Communicate analysis findings and recommendations clearly
  • Comply with environmental requirements are considered in capital project planning and operational budgeting.
  • Promote awareness of environmental sustainability principles within planning and performance management discussions.
  • Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
