Job description

 

 

Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent – Underground Mobile Equipment Maintenance , the incumbent will provide specialized technical expertise in the maintenance of underground loading and transport equipment. They will provide technical support for planned maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and the return to service of fleet equipment. This position will contribute to improving equipment availability, reliability, and performance. The incumbent will participate in the analysis of recurring failures and the improvement of maintenance practices. They will also contribute to the development of the technical skills of national maintenance staff.

 

 

His/Her essential functions will include, among others (non-exhaustive list):

 


•    Provide technical support for maintenance activities . This includes support for interventions on loading and transport equipment, including loaders and underground trucks.
•    Supporting planned maintenance operations . This includes inspections, servicing and interventions in accordance with approved plans and manufacturer requirements.

•    Providing support for complex diagnostics and repairs . This includes fault analysis and technical guidance for maintenance teams.
•    Ensure compliance with manufacturers' technical standards. This includes verifying that interventions conform to applicable procedures and requirements.
•    Analyze recurring failures . This includes studying maintenance history, downtime, and component condition.

•    Contribute to improving reliability . This includes root cause analysis, defect elimination, and formulating recommendations for improvement.
•    Supporting intervention planning . This includes identifying needs for parts, tools, manpower, and equipment access.
•    Ensure the monitoring and documentation of interventions . This includes work orders, inspections, defects, repairs and maintenance history in SAP.

•    Coordinate activities with relevant functions . This includes collaboration with mining operations, planning, reliability, technical services, HSE and supply chain.
•    Developing the skills of maintenance staff . This includes coaching, practical support and the transfer of technical skills.

 

 

Job requirements 


Qualifications and experience

 

•    Degree or license in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, heavy equipment engineering and/or equivalent professional experience and demonstrated technical skills, recognized within the framework of our overall evaluation process.
•    Demonstrate at least ten (10) years of experience in the maintenance of underground mobile mining equipment or heavy industrial equipment.
•    Experience in planned maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability and root cause analysis.

•    Experience in major maintenance, complex repairs and component replacement.
•    Experience in commissioning or recommissioning.
•    Experience with SAP or a computerized maintenance management system.

•    Experience in maintenance planning.
•    Ability to supervise and develop the skills of national staff
