Job description

 

 

Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent – Underground Mobile Equipment Maintenance , the incumbent will provide specialized technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving faults affecting underground loading and transport equipment. They will contribute to minimizing downtime and ensuring the safe and efficient return to service of equipment. The position will involve analyzing complex failures, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions. They will provide technical support to maintenance teams during major interventions and contribute to the skills development of national teams.

 

 

His/Her essential functions will include, among others (non-exhaustive list):

 


•    Diagnosing complex equipment failures . This includes the systematic identification of the causes of failure in loaders, trucks and associated equipment.
•    Providing technical support during major repairs . This includes guiding teams during complex interventions and equipment recovery operations.

•    Analyze the root causes of failures . This includes analyzing failure modes, maintenance history, and operating conditions.
•    Verify the quality of the repairs . This includes post-intervention inspections, functional tests, and safety checks before returning to service.
•    Contribute to reducing downtime . This includes improving diagnostic and repair methods to quickly and safely restore equipment availability.

•    Identify recurring failures . This includes identifying components and equipment with repetitive problems and recommending corrective actions.
•    Provide technical feedback for the planning . This includes transmitting the information necessary for preparing future interventions.
•    Ensure proper documentation of breakdowns. This includes recording causes, repairs, parts used, and residual defects in SAP.

•    Coordinate interventions with manufacturers. This includes preparing the technical information needed for analyses and requests for manufacturer support.
•    Develop the technical skills of the teams . This includes training mechanics and electricians in advanced diagnostic and repair methods.

 

 

Job requirements 


Qualifications and experience

 

•    Degree or license in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, heavy equipment engineering and/or equivalent professional experience and demonstrated technical skills, recognized within the framework of our overall evaluation process.
•    Demonstrate at least ten (10) years of experience in the maintenance of underground mobile mining equipment or heavy industrial equipment.
•    Experience with Sandvik and/or Caterpillar equipment or equivalent technologies.

•    Solid experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability and root cause analysis.
•    Experience in complex repairs and major maintenance.
•    Experience with SAP or a computerized maintenance management system.

•    Maintenance planning experience.
•    Ability to supervise and develop maintenance staff
