Specific accountabilities
- Mine site liaison for weekly review and reporting for logistics, production customs status of each site, advising no of empty trucks on each site, advising of number of trucks loaded etc.
- Coordinate with mines on trucking and export issues, coordinate with security providers on dispatches, communicate truck breakdowns, expired clearing docs
- Reporting on clearing blocks and resolutions. Follow up on border delays on inbound
- Would entail weekly travel to sites / liaison with trucking reps in those regions for daily reporting data
- Certificates of Origin requests from beginning to end
- Micromanage rail shunting
- Expedite border clearing with 3P mines for sulfur sales
- Resolving import documentation issues, etc. with our import team
Operational Perspective
- Work with logistics partners to plan and monitor the inland transport flows from mine site to load port.
- Oversight and liaising with transporters, warehouses, and SL to maintain smooth flows/execution and resolve operational issues.
- Oversight and guiding of material flows in alignment with market conditions and commercial requirements.
- Local PIC for regional problem solving and market intelligence.
- Visit mines and warehouses to assess material quality and quantity, as well as ensure operations are compliant with contract requirements and company policies.
Customer Perspective
- Build and maintain relationships with local copper producers. Identifying new opportunities and implementing commercial team’s strategies/requirements locally.
- Close cooperation with the import trucking teams

- Assist in defining and implementing optimal logistics and support functions to meet strategic and operational objectives by ensuring role clarification and execution of work at correct organizational levels
- Identify core logistics function competencies by aligning with organizational competency requirements to meet strategic and operational logistics priorities
- Drive an excellence service culture through example, driving of standards and ongoing training and development
- Train system users to efficiently utilize systems and associated processes
Qualification and skill requirements
Qualifications (minimum)
- Tertiary Degree in relevant and technical area (engineering, geology, or similar)

Work experience
