Position overview

Legal Coordinator, as part of the provision of administrative support necessary for GDRC, MUMI, KCC and Watu Wetu over the entire territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Job description (role responsibilities and key activities)

Reporting to the Legal Superintendent, the Legal Coordinator provides technical and administrative support across all legal matters of the company.

Document Quality Control & Verification:

  • Quality assurance: Conduct a systematic review of all incoming and outgoing legal and administrative documents to ensure technical accuracy, proper formatting, and consistency with corporate standards.
  • Verification of authority: Verify that all outgoing letters and agreements are signed by the authorized representatives in accordance with the company’s Delegation of Authority (DoA).
  • Due Diligence: Perform preliminary checks on incoming documents from third parties (vendors, partners, or authorities) to identify potential legal risks, clerical errors, or missing attachments before they are processed further.
  • Standardization: Ensure that all outgoing templates, notices, and memos strictly adhere to the company's official branding and legal nomenclature.

Contract Management:

  • Draft and review standard contracts.
  • Monitor the contract lifecycle (renewals, terminations, digital and physical archiving).
  • Verify compliance of contractual clauses with local laws (e.g., Mining Law, Labor Code, OHADA Uniform Acts, etc.).

Litigation and legal watch:

  • Review procedural documents prepared by lawyers and ensure that the relevant deadlines are met.
  • Update the case tracking table for cases at the litigation stage for reporting purposes.

Corporate governance and others administrative formalities:

  • Assist in organizing board meetings and drafting minutes (PV).
  • Prepare files for administrative formalities (RCCM, Official Journal, etc.).
  • Maintain the company's legal registers and corporate books.
  • Ensure that certain sensitive correspondence is delivered, particularly where the involvement of a bailiff is required.
  • Handle the notarization of various corporate documents for all companies within the Glencore Group.
  • Update the authorization/derogations tracking table for the requests submitted to competent Authorities for follow-up and reporting purposes
  • Carry out any other tasks related to the position.
