Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of the Communication Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for designing and implementing internal communication strategies, as well as an action plan aimed at enhancing employee engagement, promoting organizational values, fostering a positive work culture, and ensuring compliance with company policies, in alignment with MUMI’s objectives and values.

 

Minimum qualification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, Marketing, or Computer Science.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing/communication, product development and/or management, or a related field.

Required Experience

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of communication.
  • Experience in the mining sector is an asset.

  • Strategic and operational thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Project management.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies aligned with the organization’s culture and values.
  • Create communication plans for initiatives related to compliance and employee engagement.
  • Contribute to internal brand awareness and uphold the company’s reputation.
  • Promote a positive work culture by supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR and Legal departments to communicate policies related to corporate culture and compliance.
  • Organize and manage events, workshops, town halls, and other initiatives to boost employee morale and engagement.
  • Ensure all internal communications comply with company policies, the Code of Conduct, and applicable legal regulations.
  • Develop materials to raise employee awareness of compliance standards, company objectives, values, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Manage and sustain the grievance channel, ensuring effective two-way communication between management and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
