Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the Manager - Mine Technical Services, the Hydrogeologist Superintendent will manage the functions of the Hydrogeology Department in relation to all operations of the open pit mine in accordance with Glencore's policies, procedures, and practices as well as MUMI's safety requirements.
Minimum qualification
Possess a bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or a similar field.
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in surface water and stormwater management, including 3 (three) years of experience as a superintendent.
Required skills
- Mastery of hydrogeological databases.
- Intercultural communication. Good command of French. Fluency in English would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Data Shed database, QA/QC systems).
- Familiarity with mining and exploration systems and software such as Surpac, Deswik, ...
- Analysis and resolution of problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide key technical support to mining operations in the planning of dewatering systems
- Compile, validate and load drill data for grade control.
- Develop short-, medium- and long-term strategies for dewatering and depressurizing the mine's slopes.
- Manage stormwater drainage in the mine and plan for changes to the drainage system.
- Demonstrate leadership and initiative to effectively supervise work teams.
- Ensure that the hydrology, hydrogeology and dewatering operations of the mine are conducted in accordance with Glencore's policies, procedures and practices as well as MUMI's safety requirements.
- Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
