Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of his/her superiors, the incumbent of this position will be part of the emergency management services team and respond to emergency incidents by being proactive on a daily basis by providing service to the company according to the principles of prevention, preparedness, intervention and recovery.
Minimum qualification
- Possess a State Diploma in Mechanics, Physics, Chemistry or a similar field.
- Possess a level I firefighter certificate and is an asset.
Required Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a firefighting work environment, preferably in a mining industry.
Required skills
- Intercultural skills and written communication in French. Fluency in English is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team, courage, responsiveness and leadership
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fire prevention sessions for all MUMI operations,
- Conduct fire prevention inspections at all MUMI facilities,
- Carry out inspections on firefighting equipment,
- Check firefighting equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus before the start of the shift,
- Maintain and recondition fire extinguishers,
- Drive a fire truck, rescue trucks, hazardous materials trucks, ambulances as needed to help manage an incident,
- Ensure your safety and that of your colleagues in the event of an incident,
- Perform cleaning of fire equipment after incidents,
- To search for a person not found during an incident,
- Dealing with first aid incidents,
- Control bees, ants or wasps or eliminate them if necessary,
- Perform snake capture at MUMI's operational site
- Treat toxic hazardous materials (acid, SO2) to limit the contamination of people and biodiversity,
- Keeping a record of all inspections, checklists and records conducted,
- Follow safety, health and environmental procedures and protocols to achieve expected results
- Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy
