Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

MUMI is recruiting a: " Engineering Training Specialist "

Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent – Engineering Training, the incumbent plays a key role in the design, development, and implementation of training programs for MUMI’s engineers and technical staff. He/she ensures that engineering teams possess the knowledge, skills, and technical competencies required to perform their duties effectively, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.

 

Minimum qualification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISO 21001 (Educational Organization Management Systems) certification or an equivalent qualification is an asset.
  • Accreditation in adult education and training evaluation from a recognized training institution is a significant asset.

 

 

 

 

Required Experience

 

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in engineering or technical training, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position and at least 2 years in a training role.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, including the development of training materials and curricula.
  • Solid experience in delivering technical training programs for engineering teams.
  • Practical proficiency in MS Office software is considered a major asset.
  • Fluency in French and Swahili is required; good command of English is a strong asset.
  • Compliance with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.

 

 

Required skills

 

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, along with industry-specific technical skills.
  • Proven ability to train working adults.
  • Proficient in e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and training-related technologies.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Experience in project management.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Design, develop, and manage training programs.
  • Analyze training needs and assess their alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate training sessions, ensuring engagement and effective delivery.
  • Monitor participant performance and produce comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, fostering sustainable collaboration.
  • Identify skills gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
