Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the BAP Manager (Business Analysis and Planning Manager), the incumbent will be responsible for improving financial literacy and cost awareness among decision-makers in the mining department. He/She will facilitate engagement and accountability in cost control and cost-saving efforts through regular analysis, accurate financial data, and frequent communication with operational leaders.
He/She will play a key role in identifying improvement and savings opportunities, tracking progress against set targets, and supporting cost-reduction initiatives.
Minimum qualification
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Management Accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strongly preferred: bilingual in French and English.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining industry, with specific experience in cost analysis.
- Solid experience in cost analysis and control within the mining sector.
- Experience in producing weekly and monthly reports, organizing formal cost review meetings, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly in demanding and high-pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular cost analyses and produce weekly and monthly reports.
- Organize and lead cost review meetings, identify savings opportunities, and follow up on agreed actions.
- Participate in month-end closing activities, including preparation of adjustment journals and variance analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
- Provide ongoing support to decision-makers for ad hoc analyses and cost understanding.
- Identify and correct data entry or cost allocation errors by collaborating with relevant teams.
- Design and facilitate the implementation of cost-reduction initiatives.
- Comply with Glencore’s Environmental Management System requirements and MUMI SARL’s Environmental Policy.
