Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of boilermaker supervisor, construct and assemble boilers, tanks, pressure vessels, and structural components. Repair and maintain warm or damaged metalwork, especially under high-pressure conditions. Comply with workplace safety regulations, including hot work permits and confined space entry, and follow quality control procedures to ensure reliability and safety of finished work.
Minimum qualification
• Secondary school certificate boilermaker,
• Strong foundation in math, science, and technical drawing is an advantage,
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience working as a boilermaker, including experience in working at heights and confine space or any challenging environment.
Required skills
- Able to weld different metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum,
- Competences in assembling pressure vessels, tanks boilers, and structural components,
- Able to read and interpret technical drawing, blueprints, and schematics,
- Ability to use of cranes, chains, slings, and hoists to move and install large components safely,
- Precision in measurement, alignment, and welding for safety and durability,
- Ability to troubleshoot structural or alignment issues during fabrication or repair,
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety standards, PPE, and hazard identification,
- Ability to complete tasks within schedule while maintaining high quality standards,
- Strong understanding of metal properties, welding techniques, and structural alignment,
- High level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and safety awareness
- Able to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
· Fabricate equipment based on existing drawings, In instances where there are no drawings available, field measurements & design will be required,
· Fabricate all equipment for mills, crushers, conveyors etc, as required by production and maintenance,
· Fabrication of pipe racks, structural columns, walkways, and access staircases,
· Ability operates various machines and smalls tools,
· Adjust and prioritize work sequence and/or other variables to improve efficiency
- Conduct dimensional checks, pressure tests, and non-destructive testing to ensure work quality and integrity,
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, welders, fitters, and supervisors,
- Conduct effective maintenance on boilermaker equipment
- Comply with workplace safety regulations, including work permits in hot and confined space entry, and follow quality control procedures to ensure the reliability and safety of finished work.
· Comply with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
