Senior Manager - Joint Ventures, Mining Strategy & Investments

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded Senior Manager – Joint Ventures, Mining Strategy & Investments to join our Copper business in Switzerland. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technical mining operations and financial strategy, overseeing a diverse portfolio of joint ventures across North America, South America, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

 

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maximizing value from existing assets while supporting an ambitious growth pipeline through business development initiatives and strategic investments across the copper value chain.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor the performance of international joint venture mining operations, ensuring alignment with strategic, operational, and financial objectives
  • Provide integrated technical and financial analysis of mining assets, including production performance, cost structures, and capital allocation
  • Act as a key interface between partners, internal stakeholders, and site-level management teams
  • Support investment decisions through feasibility studies, project evaluations, and financial modeling
  • Contribute to business development activities, including identifying new opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting transaction execution
  • Assist in shaping growth strategy across a substantial copper asset pipeline
  • Evaluate operational risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to senior management
  • Travel internationally to asset locations and partner offices as required

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mining Engineering, or a related technical discipline; additional qualifications in Finance, Economics, or an MBA are strongly preferred
  • 10–12+ years of relevant experience in mining, investment analysis, or resource project evaluation
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, project development, and the copper market
  • Proven experience in financial modeling, valuation, and economic analysis of mining projects
  • Exposure to joint venture structures and stakeholder management is required
  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the Americas and/or Africa

  • Spanish and French language capabilities strongly preferred
